Customs and cultures that
exist in Balinese society is closely associated with religion and religious
life of the Hindu community.
The majority of Balinese Hinduism

ie belief in eternal
happiness. Hindu belief of the existence of God /
Hyang Widhi that Wyapi Wyapaka or there everywhere also within oneself - a
guidance that always reminds link between karma or deeds and reward or
consequence, which leads in the direction of human behavior as its integrated
Tri Kaya Parisudha manacika, wacika, and Kayika or unification of thoughts,
words, and good deeds.
Hindus believe that the universe
and everything in it is God's creation as well as a gift of God to mankind to
be used for their survival. Because the guidance literature Hinduism teaches
that the universe always kept sustainability and harmony which translates in
understanding the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana as a three-way towards the
perfection of life, namely:
- Man's relationship with God; as the atma or soul is poured in the form of religious teaching that organize the pattern of spiritual communication through a variety of ceremonial offerings to the Lord. Because it is in the Balinese community called Village People certainly are a means Parhyangan or temple, known as the Three heaven, as the media in realizing the human relationship with Ida Sang Hyang Widhi.
- Human relationship with the natural world; as antlers or body imprinted on the order of residential areas and supporting areas (agriculture) are in a region referred to as the Village People Pakraman.
- Human relationships with fellow human beings; as khaya or power in a region referred to as the Village People Krama village or community members, is the driving force to integrate atma and antlers.
The pattern of Balinese society
is very rigid and tied to the norms of both religious and social. In the
context of religious norms, for example, every Balinese Hindus obliged to carry
out prayer or worship in certain temples are required to live together in one
community, the ownership of agricultural land is required in a particular
Subak, are required in social status based on color, on kinship ties required under
patrilineal principles.
Balinese settlement structure can
be divided into two types, namely residential concentric pattern as it did in
the Balinese who live in the mountains and settlements spread out like that
